"You took off your pants and climbed under the sheets!"

"I was tired!"

Decision Making

DIY Polka Dot Shirt, Jeans:  NY&C, Necklace:  JCPenney
The necklace above was a hard decision.  I probably stood at the jewelry stand at JCPenney for 10 minutes before I decided on buying that necklace.  Money wasn't the issue as it was pretty cheap but the fact of 'do I really need it?'. I have been asking myself that question a lot lately.

Grocery stores are the worst.  I look and look and look and look at the chocolate cakes and donuts and all things yummy but always end up walking away.  They even make it in my cart, go around the store with me for awhile but end up back on the shelf.

There are so many 'wants' in my life but what do I really 'need'?

Weekend Recap

Yes, that is a trailer with chairs.  Redneck Limousine!

This 4th of July is one that I will never forget.

ALL of the family showing up to celebrate Grandpa Fred's 85th Birthday.  Man, the food was good!

Taking our normal caravan golf cart ride but with a special redneck twist this year (this will be a new tradition!).

Seeing a fish hook go straight through someones thumb with no way of getting out (always a hospital trip on the 4th of July).

Getting my FIRST tan line of the summer.

After 5 years, Leo has finally snapped at somebody.  Unfortunately, it was a family member.

Laughing so much, I could of peed my pants.

Seeing my sexy husband play music.

A new generation setting off the fireworks (good job baby!).

For once in my life after 4 days of being gone, I was NOT ready to go home.

My Wedding Earrings

So I had this vision for my wedding earrings.  Emerald is my birth stone and I wanted it incorporated with the setting as a tear drop.  I looked and looked and looked and didn't find exactly what I was looking for.  My moto is.....when all else fails, make your own.  Why not? Cheaper, more personal and the best part is, I get exactly what I want.

All of the supplies came from Etsy and things that I already had at home. Total of $17.00.

Black & White

Sweater:  F21, Shorts:  NY&C, Shoes:  Charlotte Russe

Sometimes it is sad for me to realize how boring of a life that I actually have.  Today at work I got asked what I did this weekend.  After thinking back, it went a little something like this.

Friday - Got home from work and watched a little bit of Real Housewives New Jersey.  Danny got home so we went outside and he trimmed all of our bushes while I raked up the pieces.  In bed by 10 p.m.

Saturday - Took a trip to an Antique Mall and Walmart.  Went out to dinner with my Dad at a new restaurant and then just went home and chilled with the dogs.  In bed by midnight.

Sunday - Danny woke me up at NOON Sunday morning!  I made lunch, cleaned the house, hung some laundry, watched 'Identity Thief' (awful movie) and rearranged some shelves.

I live such an exciting life!

Our Garden

We started our first ever garden at the end of April not really knowing what to expect.  I would say that both of us were not blessed with a green thumb so it was going to be interesting.

After talking to A LOT of experienced gardeners about 'how to plant' and 'what to plant'.  We decided to keep it simple with tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, 5 types of peppers (we love peppers!) and for the herbs, some dill and cilantro.  We also planted broccoli and strawberries a couple of weeks later.  We've been told that we won't see any strawberries for a year (not sure if that's true).

First pic after planting.....

A couple of weeks later.....

And now....drum roll please.....

Bam!  Seriously, amazing for two people who have never grown a thing in their life.  It is so gratifying to pick your own food and eat it.  The tomatoes are doing great also but they won't be ready until July.

Danny did do more work than me on this garden so he may have a different opinion but I thought it was so easy and worth the time and money.  I would say that we spent less than $100, but we borrowed a tiller (a must!) and had a friend collect all his chicken poop for our fertilizer and we had such a wet spring that we only watered the plants once.

Alright, well I'm off to eat some cucumber slices with salt & pepper.  Yum!

A NIght at the Ballpark

If you live in St. Louis, you know the one thing that you MUST do every summer is hit up a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.  That's what makes us the 'Best Fans in Baseball' (you don't believe me?  google it).  No matter if we win or lose (we lost by the way), it still is such a good time!
