Jeans Protest

Shirt:  Thrifted - $3.00, Pants:  ????, Boots:  JCPenney - $???

The pants I am wearing today were found with my high waisted pants that I talked about here.  They're a little snug in the rear-end area and I'm sure I will get a disapproving look from Danny when I get home but I'm sick of jeans so I'm glad I found something new.  Does anyone else get sick of wearing jeans all the time?

Polka Dot and Mint

Cardigan:  Thrifted - $3.00, Blouse:  Thrifted - $3.00, Jeans: Sears Outlet - FREE, Shoes:  Thrifted - $1.99

Kind of a weird combination but I think it works.  The polka dot buying has offically stopped.  I have too many clothing items with polka dots (as seen here, here and here).  More and more of my outfits are almost all thrifted items, which is very exciting for me.  It's nice to know that my whole outfit only cost $7.99!

Is he my stalker or protector?

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.00, Jeans:  Thrifted - $6.75, Shoes:  Thrifted - $2.00

Is he my stalker or protector?  That's the question that Danny and I debate.  Leo does not leave my side.  If I go in the kitchen, he goes in the kitchen.  If I go upstairs, he goes upstaires.  If I go to the bathroom, he goes into the bathroom.  Get my drift!  He doesn't leave me alone!  I know he loves me and I love him but could he get his own life already.

Saturday Afternoon

Saturday afternoon consisted of a beautiful view during a cool day.

Seeing my nephew love dogs so much while his mother has always hated them.

Cleaning what felt like a thousand mouse turds from our camper after finding out a little mouse made it his home this winter.

Watching Danny weed-eat from the warmth of the truck.

Picking out a gift for Danny's nephew and watching his eyes light up upon seeing his very own basketball hoop.

Laying down on the couch around 5:30 p.m. to rest for a couple of minutes and then never getting up until bedtime.

DIY Color Block Clutch

All you need is a thrifted clutch (mine came from Goodwill for $3.00), craft paint, small brush and tape.  Pretty self explanatory.....tape off your line, sit down for an episode of Vampire Diaries and start painting.  Mine took about 4 coats of paint on each side with 10 minutes in between each coat.

High Waisted Pants

Shirt:  Thrifted - $3.00, Pants:  ???, Boots:  JCPenney - $15.00

This shirt was my "bold print" from my March Wish List.  It's taken me awhile to wear it because it is so short.  I love the print and it fits well, except for the fact that it's almost a belly shirt.  That's where my high waisted pants come in.  They were way in the back of my closet and I had completely forgot about them.  It's like getting a new pair of pants for free!

How in the world did that happen?

Jacket:  Thrifted - $1.50, Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.50, Jeans:  Thrifted - $2.99, Boots:  Thrifted - $3.00

Went to the good ol' Walmart yesterday to pick up my new bedroom curtains and as I was pulling out onto the highway there was a rotisserie chicken sitting in the middle of the road.  It was in the original package and looked brand new.  The cheapskate inside me first thought to get out and grab it (hello, perfectly good chicken!).  Then the realization of how long has it been sitting there stopped me.  It really got me thinking, how in the world did that happen?  Did they leave it on top of their car and it eventually flew off?  Did their car door mysteriously open and it fell out?  It has been driving me crazy since!

Leather Jacket

Leather Jacket:  Thrifted - $7.99, Jeans:  NY&C - $7.99
Another essential in my wardrobe is my faux leather jacket.  The best material I have found to wear it with is plaid but it could be worn with almost anything.  It has a masculinity about it but also is feminine so it is perfect for any mood that you may be in.

Comfortable and Light

Shirt:  Target - $4.00, Jeans:  Thrifted - $4.00, Jewelry:  NY&C and JCPenney

Whenever I know that my work day is going to be busy, I try to dress as comfortable and light as I can.  Jeans and a t-shirt are perfect for days like today.  To make it a little more professional I added a mixture of jewelry.  My go-to gold watch, a mix of bracelets and a choker necklace.  One wardrobe essential right now for me, is my gold watch.  I wear it almost everyday!

Those boots were made for walking

Shirt:  Target - $4.98, Sweater:  FREE, Jeans:  NY&C - $7.99, Boots:  Wet Seal - $4.99
So, it has been 2 1/2 months since purchasing anything new and I'm surprised at how easy it has been.  I rarely go to malls anymore, unless it is with someone who can keep me from temptation.  Shoes have been the hardest part of all of this.  The shoes in thrift stores are just gross!  It is very hard to find a decent pair that is my size.  Luckily, I already have a lot of shoes that I have gotten over the years and since my shoe size hasn't changed since middle school, I never get rid of them.  When I start packing up my closet, I may have to take a count and see how many I have.  I just won't tell Danny what the total is!

Scare Attack

Turtleneck:  Old Navy - $4.00, Blazer:  Thrifted - $1.99, Pants:  Target - $4.98, Boots:  Thrifted - $3.00

Does anybody else scare people in their office?  Me and two co-workers have a running prank where we try to scare eachother.  Of course, there have been some innocent bystanders who have become victims.  You very awkwardly say "sorry, I was trying to scare somebody else."  All three of us are now extremely jumpy and very aware of our surroundings.  I have mastered the scaring technique and figured out that planned attacks do not work as great as the unexpected crouch down behind your desk and jump out.  It works everytime!

Need a Good Laugh?

Sweater:  Thrifted - $1.50, Jeggings:  Walmart - $7.00, Boots:  JCPenney - $15.00
If you have seen Rob Dyrdek's show Fantasy Factory on MTV then you know how addicting it can be.  I watched it for 2 straight hours last night and laughed the whole time.  He is a natural comedian who thinks of crazy antics.  Last night, one of the episodes was when he wrote a musical for his cousin Drama's 25th B-day.  It was absolutely hilarious!  If you need a good laugh, I highly recommend watching an episode of Fantasy Factory.

Happy Late Easter

Shirt:  Cato - $4.00, Skirt:  Thrifted - $1.99, Belt:  Thrifted - $0.50

This skirt was a really good find.  No sewing needed and it is one of my favorite brands, New York & Company.  Danny said that as we were walking through church to take our seat he heard a girl say "aw, I like that skirt."  If she only knew how much I paid for it.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend as much as I did. And if you had a three-day weekend like me.  Welcome back to work!

You know you need to start working out when.....

Sweater:  Thrifted - $3.00, Jeans:  Thrifted - $2.99, Shoes:  Thrifted - $3.00

You know you need to start working out when....

After 3 days of painting, you can barely walk and function from being so sore. Your body is so wore down that you are starting to get a sore throat which will inevitably lead to strep.  You have a random rash that is starting to spread on your stomach and back.  Your eyes have been so sore that you've been wearing your glasses most of the time.  It's sad when 5 days of work has done all of this to me.

Hectic

Shirt:  Target - $4.00, Sweater:  Thrifted - $1.50, Jeans:  NY&C - $7.99, Bracelet:  Thrifted - $1.00

My life has been full of hectic days along with hectic nights.  Cuddle time late at night with the pups in bed.....Leo's final countdown has begun for being an inside dog.  Decisions, prepping, painting, taping, cleaning, weed pulling, trimming, mowing, packing and everyday life has just wore me down.  Late last night as we were painting, I told Danny that I better at least lose some weight from all this work or it is just not worth it.
