My Everyday Life

My work area, where I spend 8 hours a day.  Who invented the 40 hour work week!?

Daily drive over the bridge into Missouri

Long drive to work

The "why are you so strange?" look I get daily from the boyfriend.

The pups pretending like they love each other.

Half Way Dressed Up

Shirt:  Thrifted - $0.99, Jacket:  Sears Outlet - FREE, Jeggings:  Walmart - $8.00
Silk shirt with a black blazer is considered dressed up.  So when you add jeggings it should be considered half way dressed up....don't ya think?

For it to be a more casual look, replace the black blazer with a black leather jacket.  A black leather jacket should be an essential in everybody's wardrobe.

Knocking them out

Making a trip to VV tonight for half off Wednesday!  Hopefully I can find an orange top that I like.  That leopard belt is going to really make me mad.....grrrrrr.

Books are just better

Shirt:  Thrifted - $0.99, Sweater:  JCPenney - $7.00, Jeans:  Sears Outlet - FREE,
Shoes:  Thrifted - $1.99, Purse:  Thrifted - $3.99

The Hunger Games movie was awesome but does anybody else think that books are just better?  I love movies but if I had to choose between books or movies I would for sure choose books.  I read the first Hunger Games book in one day so I obviously recommend it to anyone who needs something new to read.  For me, reading is a way to relax my mind and body, to go to another world and get away from life for even just a litle bit.

Rainy Day

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.99, Jeggings:  Walmart - $8.00, Boots:  Tretorn - $40.00
The only thing good about a rainy day is I get to wear my favorite rain boots.  They were a splurge for me last year as I normally don't spend $40 on a pair of boots (they were originally $75 though!).  The best part is no matter where you walk they wipe off clean.  Gotta go stomp threw some mud puddles now, see ya!

Sequin Heaven

When I go thrifting, I don't look at every piece of clothing on every single rack. My eyes roam for that special something, that piece that catches my eye.  The material has to be different, something that isn't sold in most stores.  And when I spot that something, I instantly get that feeling that someone else just spotted it too and I have to get there as fast as possible!  I do the super fast walk with intense eyes to let everyone know that is mine, don't even think about it.

That's exactly what happened this afternoon when I spotted a gold sequin jacket.  It's a piece that I have never seen nor probably will ever see again in a thrift store.  I kid you not, it looks just like the jacket in the above picture but the best part is.....mine was only $2.99.

Yep, be jealous.

Hard to take pictures

Jacket:  NY&C - $7.99, Shirt:  Walmart - $3.00, Jeans:  NY&C - $7.99

It's getting harder and harder to take pictures of myself.  All I have is the reach arm and snap picture pose.  It's getting old so I need to figure something else out.

This week, there have been somes guys working behind our house so I had to stand on the front porch to take a picture.  There was no way I was going to stand out back snapping pictures of myself with random people watching me.  No way Jose!

Being on the front porch this morning made me realize just how much I'm going to miss this house when we move this month.  Come on, how many people wish they had a view like this....

We have had our differences you old farm house on the hill but I will miss you when we leave.  I may have told you that I hated you from time to time but I will always remember where our little family had our first home.

DIY Glitter Shoes

All you need is a pair of old shoes and a can of Glitter Blast.  I got the shoes for $0.99 at Value Village and the Glitter Blast from Home Depot.

Stuff the shoes with paper so you don't paint the insides and then start spraying LIGHT coats onto the shoes.  I did a total of 3 light coats.  This sounds weird, but the more coats you do, the less glittery it is.  Since my shoes were red, I had to spray more than I wanted to make sure no red bled through.

And here is the final result.....
