My Everyday Life

My work area, where I spend 8 hours a day.  Who invented the 40 hour work week!?

Daily drive over the bridge into Missouri

Long drive to work

The "why are you so strange?" look I get daily from the boyfriend.

The pups pretending like they love each other.

Half Way Dressed Up

Shirt:  Thrifted - $0.99, Jacket:  Sears Outlet - FREE, Jeggings:  Walmart - $8.00
Silk shirt with a black blazer is considered dressed up.  So when you add jeggings it should be considered half way dressed up....don't ya think?

For it to be a more casual look, replace the black blazer with a black leather jacket.  A black leather jacket should be an essential in everybody's wardrobe.

Knocking them out

Making a trip to VV tonight for half off Wednesday!  Hopefully I can find an orange top that I like.  That leopard belt is going to really make me mad.....grrrrrr.

Books are just better

Shirt:  Thrifted - $0.99, Sweater:  JCPenney - $7.00, Jeans:  Sears Outlet - FREE,
Shoes:  Thrifted - $1.99, Purse:  Thrifted - $3.99

The Hunger Games movie was awesome but does anybody else think that books are just better?  I love movies but if I had to choose between books or movies I would for sure choose books.  I read the first Hunger Games book in one day so I obviously recommend it to anyone who needs something new to read.  For me, reading is a way to relax my mind and body, to go to another world and get away from life for even just a litle bit.

Rainy Day

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.99, Jeggings:  Walmart - $8.00, Boots:  Tretorn - $40.00
The only thing good about a rainy day is I get to wear my favorite rain boots.  They were a splurge for me last year as I normally don't spend $40 on a pair of boots (they were originally $75 though!).  The best part is no matter where you walk they wipe off clean.  Gotta go stomp threw some mud puddles now, see ya!

Sequin Heaven

When I go thrifting, I don't look at every piece of clothing on every single rack. My eyes roam for that special something, that piece that catches my eye.  The material has to be different, something that isn't sold in most stores.  And when I spot that something, I instantly get that feeling that someone else just spotted it too and I have to get there as fast as possible!  I do the super fast walk with intense eyes to let everyone know that is mine, don't even think about it.

That's exactly what happened this afternoon when I spotted a gold sequin jacket.  It's a piece that I have never seen nor probably will ever see again in a thrift store.  I kid you not, it looks just like the jacket in the above picture but the best part is.....mine was only $2.99.

Yep, be jealous.

Hard to take pictures

Jacket:  NY&C - $7.99, Shirt:  Walmart - $3.00, Jeans:  NY&C - $7.99

It's getting harder and harder to take pictures of myself.  All I have is the reach arm and snap picture pose.  It's getting old so I need to figure something else out.

This week, there have been somes guys working behind our house so I had to stand on the front porch to take a picture.  There was no way I was going to stand out back snapping pictures of myself with random people watching me.  No way Jose!

Being on the front porch this morning made me realize just how much I'm going to miss this house when we move this month.  Come on, how many people wish they had a view like this....

We have had our differences you old farm house on the hill but I will miss you when we leave.  I may have told you that I hated you from time to time but I will always remember where our little family had our first home.

DIY Glitter Shoes

All you need is a pair of old shoes and a can of Glitter Blast.  I got the shoes for $0.99 at Value Village and the Glitter Blast from Home Depot.

Stuff the shoes with paper so you don't paint the insides and then start spraying LIGHT coats onto the shoes.  I did a total of 3 light coats.  This sounds weird, but the more coats you do, the less glittery it is.  Since my shoes were red, I had to spray more than I wanted to make sure no red bled through.

And here is the final result.....

Man Twin

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.99, Jeans:  Thrifted - $2.99, Necklace:  Bingo Prize - FREE, Belt:  ???

When I bought this shirt, it definitely looked like a womans shirt.  I get to work today and me and a guy co-worker look like twins!  After seeing it on him, I definitely think this is now a mans shirt.  Is plaid made for men or women?

Footloose

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.00, Belt:  Thrifted - $0.50, Jeggings:  Walmart - $8.00, Shoes:  Kohls - $7.99

Watched the remake of Footloose last night.  The best part of the movie was everytime they played the song Footloose.  I challenge each one of you to turn on the song Footloose and see if you can keep yourself from dancing.  It is impossible I tell ya!

Elevator Embarrassment

Shirt:  Thrifted - $1.50, Jeans:  Thrifted - $4.00, DIY Sweater Scarf

You step on the elevator, push floor 1 and you start spacing out into your own thoughts.  You hear the bell ding and the doors open.  You charge out the door only to look up and realize your not on the right floor.  You try to play it cool "whoops, wrong floor" only to get weird looks from the people just standing there staring at you.

Girls Night Out

Thank you girls, for an awesome night out full of laughter, smiling and dancing.

I don't tell you enough how much you mean to me.  You are all caring, strong and beautiful women and I am so proud of you.  I couldn't ask for better friends.

$1.99 dress

This dress was found at Value Village for $1.99, formerly mentioned here.  When I tried it on, I was very excited to find out that there were no alterations needed.

Work had a big meeting yesterday which required me to dress up for the day so I decided to wear my new dress.

Thanks D for taking my picture, love you!

Color Coded

My closet is a disaster!  Nothing is accessible, I never find what I am looking for and there is no more room left.  See below for my reality.....

Very soon the boyfriend and I will be moving to a new house where we will be sharing a very decent size master closet. I was searching for inspiration online and came upon this article which shows pics and talks about the closet of Nan Kempner.  She sounds like she was an awesome lady!

Say no more...color coded closet it is.

Stripes

Paid the Chiropractor a visit for the first time yesterday and I loved it!  I was super nervous of the violent jerks and noises that were going to happen but the relief felt afterwards was amazing!  Thank you Dr. Faccin, you were a lifesaver.

Channeling Grandma

This shirts prior life was definitely with a Grandma. But for $1.50, I couldn't pass it up.  I love the two different fabrics mixed together and it is so comfortable that I feel like I'm wearing a sweatshirt.

There is nothing worse than chipped nails

On Valentines Day, the nail polish brand Zoya was offering a free bottle of red nail polish with any purchase.  It is very hard to find a good nail polish so I figured I would take a shot at it.  Well let me tell you that I am so glad that I did!

I painted my nails last Monday with Zoya Flowie and a week later I have no chips!  For all you nail polishaholics, you know that's a big deal.

DIY Sweater Scarf

I stopped by Goodwill last night and picked up two more things from my wishlist (diy sweater scarf and white sheer shirt).  The only thing I couldn't find this month was the leopard belt.  That belt is going to be hard to find in a thrift store!

I purchased a mens sweater (size large) for $3.00 and followed Studs and Pearls instructions HERE.  Super easy and cheap and I love it!
